LeSS in Action: Developer Practices

class size

  • 8 ~ 15 people
  • 18 when 2 experienced trainers are present and in ideal environment

duration

  • 5 days, 8 working hours per day
  • Pre-work takes 2 hours to 2 days. Depends on the particpant’s familarity with our tech stack.

prerequisites for participants

  • Currently working > 50% in a development team
  • We also accept no more than 1 non-current developer per 5 participants

Individual Developer Environment

  • Need at least one computer per two participants. The computer should be at least Apple M1 or above, running Windows, MacOS, or Linux.
  • If participants’ laptops do not have permission to install software, we will provide a cloud-based development environment or physical computers. Depends on the country.
  • Follow this link to set up the development environment.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own keyboard and mouse, but get ready to share with others.

Venue Requirements

  • A projector or large screen for all participants to see at the same time
  • One whiteboard per 5 participants, or flat surface for cling sheets
  • Wall space for flip charts. Flip chart stands are optional.
  • Tables with straight edges, that can form square islands of 4-6 people
  • One monitor per 2 participants, prefer 24 inches to 32 inches
  • Comfortable chairs that can be moved around. Prefer chairs without armrests.
  • Fast internet connection
  • Enough power outlets
  • Natural light and good ventilation
  • A pantry with coffee, tea, water, and snacks, or alternative arrangements
  • Not too far from lunch options, or provide lunch
  • Allow leaving equipment overnight
