We are almost there, to launch Certified LeSS Coach - the mentor program for all Coaches, Scrum Masters and Executives.

The LeSS Coach program

Guiding an organization toward LeSS adoption is complex work. You’re navigating executive expectations, team dynamics, and organizational resistance—often without anyone in your corner who’s been through it before.

The LeSS Coach program pairs you with an experienced mentor for one year. Together, you work on your actual coaching challenges, building the skills and confidence to lead organizations toward LeSS.

Who joins the program?

Scrum Masters who want to move beyond team facilitation into organizational change work.

Agile and technical coaches seeking structured guidance from practitioners who’ve led successful LeSS adoptions.

Operational and engineering executives driving Lean-based transformation and looking for experienced thinking partners.

The program works for people employed within organizations and for independent coaches building their practice. Your mentor meets you where you are.

How it works

You’re matched with a LeSS Mentor—someone backed by the LeSS Company with deep experience in organizational adoption.

Over twelve months, you receive:

  • 24 hours of dedicated mentorship through 1-2 calls per month
  • Ongoing support via chat and email between sessions
  • Real-world application focused on your current work, clients, or organization

The aim is concrete: move toward a LeSS adoption, or start integrating LeSS practices into what you’re already doing. Your mentor helps you navigate the hard parts—conversations with senior management, team restructuring, product backlog consolidation, building the right environment for change.

What you gain

Deeper capability

You learn to lead LeSS adoptions by actually doing the work with expert guidance. Your mentor has handled the situations you’re facing. They help you see what you’re missing and build skills you can’t get from courses alone.

Increased confidence

Whether you’re a Scrum Master stepping into coaching work or an experienced coach taking on larger adoptions, you develop certainty in your approach. You know the principles deeply. You’ve pressure-tested your thinking with someone who challenges you.

Higher market value

Certified LeSS Coaches are valued more highly than Scrum Masters or general agile coaches. Organizations pay more—and keep you longer—when you carry this credential.

A direct path forward

The program creates a fast track to becoming a Certified LeSS Trainer. If that’s your ambition, you’re building toward it from day one.

Community and connection

Your certification opens doors beyond mentorship:

  • Quarterly dojos where LeSS Coaches and Mentors discuss real coaching challenges (bring your own problems)
  • Annual LeSS Coach Gathering held in person before the Global LeSS Conference
  • A network of senior practitioners available when you need advice, collaboration, or referrals
  • Visibility on LeSS.works where organizations find coaches for their adoptions

Commercial advantages

For independent coaches and small consultancies, certification unlocks business opportunities:

  • Deliver CLB training. Teach the one-day Certified LeSS Basics course to client organizations. Teaching is the fastest way to deepen your own understanding.
  • Receive coaching requests. Organizations searching LeSS.works can find and contact you directly.
  • Access discounts. Save on CLP courses you arrange for clients and on Global LeSS Conference registration.
  • Build your team. Find other LeSS-minded professionals through the platform when you need to staff engagements.

Your investment

€2,900 per year covers your mentorship, community access, LeSS.works visibility, and all program benefits.

From year four onward, reduced rates apply. You can pause certification if circumstances change (€100/year maintains your registration).

The program accepts practitioners with 3+ years of coaching experience, 4+ years as a Scrum Master, or executives operating as coaches based on Lean principles.
