MUNICH, February 2026 – The Society for Adaptive Organisations (SfAO) and The LeSS Company today announced the launch of the Qualified Scrum Practitioner (QSP), a joint certification that equips professionals to use Scrum effectively while preparing them for the realities of modern product development.

The QSP certification goes beyond basic Scrum education. While many entry-level certifications cover the framework’s mechanics, QSP highlights the points teams need to understand in order to make Scrum actually work: product thinking and clear goals, sound engineering practices, genuine self-management, effective backlog refinement, and the coordination skills required when multiple teams collaborate on shared products.

This focus on effective Scrum reflects a simple reality: understanding the Scrum framework is necessary but not sufficient. Teams that thrive are those that grasp not only what to do, but why it matters and how to do it well. The QSP certification equips practitioners with this deeper understanding, enabling them to contribute meaningfully from day one.

Prepared for Real-World Complexity

Most entry-level Scrum certifications focus exclusively on single-team contexts, yet today’s product development increasingly involves multiple teams working together. The QSP certification bridges foundational Scrum knowledge with practical multi-team coordination skills, giving participants a more complete and realistic preparation for their working environment.

A Tangible Outcome of Strategic Collaboration

The QSP certification represents the first joint educational programme to emerge from the strategic collaboration between SfAO and The LeSS Company, announced in October 2025. That partnership united two organisations committed to helping companies become truly adaptive through practical knowledge, professional learning, and systemic change.

“The Qualified Scrum Practitioner certification is a tangible outcome of our collaboration with The LeSS Company. Together, we are delivering education that reflects how modern product development actually works, preparing practitioners not just for their first team, but for the complex, multi-team environments they will inevitably encounter.”

Roza Silva, CEO, Society for Adaptive Organisations

“We share a commitment to helping organisations become truly adaptive, not just agile in name. The QSP certification embodies this by teaching Scrum in a way that prepares all involved people, as One-team, for product delivery and learning from real feedback, rather than treating scalability as an afterthought.”

Bastiaan van Hamersveld, CEO, The LeSS Company

The Qualified Scrum Practitioner certification will be available from February 2026. For more information, visit https://adaptive-organisations.org/en/certifications/ or https://less.works
