Gary believes in the power of teams and that people want to build valuable solutions. Gary has worked for over 15 years in technology, and his foundation is in human performance/organization development. He has worked as a traditional project manager and understands what it is like to transition to more adaptive and team-centric approaches (agile). Gary has worked with agile methods since 2009. He is currently a Director of Product Enablement at UnitedHealth Group.
He has helped six organizations become more agile. Gary believes in assisting teams in finding their way rather than forcing practices upon them. He works at all levels of an enterprise to guide transformation efforts.
Gary is an avid learner who continually looks for new ideas that challenge his thoughts. Gary is a Less-Friendly Scrum Trainer and a Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Coach has 17 additional certifications. Gary has a Masters in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota.
Gary is active in the agile community. He speaks at several events, been a reviewer for the Best Agile Articles Book from 2018-2021, reviewed curriculum for Scrum Alliance, and been a reviewer for the Global Scrum Gathering and Agile Alliance Conferences.
