Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1973, Kaname Hayashi joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1998, where he was involved in the development of the LFA supercar and F1 aerodynamics, and later managed the development of mass-produced vehicles. 2011, he participated in Softbank Academia as the first external student, and the following year joined Softbank, where he was involved in the Pepper project.
In 2015, he founded GROOVE X. In December 2018, he launched LOVOT, a family-type robot, which will begin shipping in 2019, and received the INNOVATION AWARD at CES2020, the BEST OF CES award from Refinery29, the Good Design Gold Award, and WELLBEING AWARDS GOLD IMPACT AWARD in the goods and services category, among many other awards.
His publications include "Warm Technology" released in May 2023.
